Today we are giving my daughter's teacher a Moleskine and a paper wrapped pencil with her name on it. I loved how it ended up, so I made more for her ESL teacher (we are from Brazil, so she has an English as a Second Language teacher) and for her Art teacher. I got so excited, I made matching notebooks too!
I didn't know what I was going to give to the encore teachers, but now I decided they all are going to receive a personalized notebook and paper wrapped pencil.
I'm so thankful for all the teachers my daughter have. They are all wonderful!
You can make these paper wrapped pencils too with the tutorial below and the free printable I'll send to you. Just like my facebook page and leave a comment on this post. I'll send it to your email.
So, let's start the tutorial. You are going to need:
- boring pencils (rounded will work best)
- the printable I'll send you
- Mod Podge
Personalize, print and cut the PDF file I sent you. Print in regular printer paper. If you use a thick paper is more difficult. Covering a pencil is a little trick. It took me a few times to get it right, so don't worry if yours don't work right away. Just remove the paper from your pencil, clean it and start over.
I did a little research before trying this and I learned it works best if the paper is wrapped in the same direction as the pencil sharpener blade turns around the pencil. So, have it in mind and let's start.
Cover one of the edges, on the wrong side of the paper with Mod Podge.
Sharpen it and done.
You will want to make more and more. It's addictive. :-))))
You can see better the notebooks I made in this picture:
I'm not offering the notebook as a free printable because they are note really easy to make and also, you'll need some tools... maybe in the future I'll make this tutorial, but I'm not sure I can explain it well with pictures. I'll probably need a video tutorial...
So, don't forget do like my facebook page and leave a comment on this post to receive the design for the paper to cover the pencils. Don't forget to send me your email address, so I can send you the file.
I'll see you tomorrow!
